Bicentennial Birth Anniversary of
Venerable Mother Veronica
Sacred Heart Convent School, Jamshedpur takes pride in its rich heritage,
rooted in the vision of Venerable the Mother Veronica the Foundress of the
Apostolic Carmel Congregation, whose Bicentennial birth anniversary we
celebrate this year.
Venerable Mother Veronica in her foresightedness founded the Apostolic
Carmel, at Bayonne France in 1868, with an aim of education of young girls of
all castes and creed of India. She was an accomplished English woman who
sacrificed her all in order to bequeath to the world a legacy for the education of
girls and empowerment of women. Although it is so long since she walked the
earth, she is still very much alive in her numerous institutions spread all over
India, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Italy, Pakistan, East Africa, France and
Germany. Her spirit is guiding us, her daughters to keep her vision in focus
down the ages and work for the education of all. May she continue to guide us,
through the coming years.
Our school celebrated this auspicious day. This grand event was a tribute to her
remarkable legacy. During the fest, the students of class 12, showcased their
creativity and passion through a captivating play that brought Mother Veronica’s
inspiring life to the stage. It was a momentous occasion that highlighted the
